 KELLEY MAZDA
Having been born and raised in Toronto, cultivated Kelley’s desire for music, the theatre and performance, in general. As a child, she was involved in plays, danced, and thrived in that creative environment. When she got older, she sang in bands and really enjoyed that crazy life. Because of her abundant energy (that you may have seen a time or two yourself!), Kelley became heavily involved in sports. She loved to learn (and still does to this day), so her education was paramount and she took great care and pride in her school work, achieving excellence.
In her life today, Kelley has an amazingly supportive husband, who, although is not involved in music or theatre, loves that his wife gets such a charge out of performing. He has been known to work backstage at his wife’s “encouragement”. It’s kind of like one of those “voluntold” types of experiences. He is a gracious and loving man and she is very fortunate to have him in her life. They moved from Toronto a few years ago and found Peterborough to be the perfect place for their family.
Kelley is the proud mother of three amazing males; the inquisitive, creative, oldest guy is 20 years old, her middle, sporty-genius is 13 and her precious, jovial boy is now 15 months old! Yes, Kelley is nothing if not persistent! She figured one child a decade was a great choice for her and her family! She absolutely adores each child and is amazed that she has the opportunity to impact their lives for the better. Everyday, they impact her life and she couldn’t be happier. Loving her children is a gift and she is definitely blessed.
Kelley, still interested in performing, got an education(!) and along with being Sole Proprietor of Legacy Productions, works with teenagers in area high schools who are having life issues. She is hopeful that the struggles that they are involved in will help them to be the people that they were destined to be. Kelley loves to see those wonderful human beings learn that they have the power to make a change in their lives, if they choose to do so.
Kelley is currently attending Trent University in Peterborough, working towards an Honours Degree in Psychology. Perhaps this will assist her in figuring herself out! Not likely! She is a Social Worker, Addictions Counsellor, and Legal Assistant and really sees herself as being a student for life! Will it ever end?
Through Legacy Productions, Kelley wants to make a difference in the lives of others, using music and the arts to do just that. With every Legacy Production, Kelley dedicates a portion of the proceeds to help benefit a chosen charity or group in the community.
Kelley sees the future as being incredibly bright and cherishes the moments to grow and learn. How will you make a difference in the world today? Believe in yourself so that others may believe in you AND GO FOR IT! Remember, we were destined for greatness! Ciao
